5.33 Efficacious Irrespective of Demographic
and Disease Characteristics
Subgroup analyses support the consistent efficacy and
safety of 20 IU/kg body weight Berinert
®
irrespective of
gender, age, type of HAE, intensity of attacks, time to start
of treatment, use of androgens, or presence of anti-C1-INH
antibodies (Figure 20).
5.34 Efficacious After Repeated Treatment
The effect of repeated administration of 20 IU/kg Berinert
®
was evaluated in a retrospective analysis of I.M.P.A.C.T.2.
81
In 18 patients treated for
15 attacks each, the intensity
and distribution of body location of HAE attacks did not
change with an increasing number of attacks treated with
Berinert
®
. Also, none of the patients experienced statistically
significant changes in treatment response. The results of
this analysis suggest that the frequency of HAE attacks
(Figure 21), time to onset of symptom relief, and time to
complete resolution of HAE symptoms are not affected by
previous use of Berinert
®
.
